IDeACOM Telecommunication Technology Seminar - Summer Hit

The rapid development in technology today can be overwhelming. Many organizations are battling the effects of the economy and wondering if and how a new phone system, carrier service, or add-on application can help them. Specifically, how can technology reduce operating expenses or help to generate more revenue.

IDeACOM recently showcased a vast array of telecommunications technology ranging from digital systems from the 80's up to present day, next generation VoIP platforms. The showcase was titled: 5 Ways to Cut Communications Costs. Attendees learned about slashing monthly carrier costs, reducing hardware costs, improving productivity & customer service, minimizing hardware & software expenses, and ways to minimize migration costs.

The technology showcase was held at The Somerset Patriots Ballpark and proved to be not only productive but also a lot of fun. To accommodate busy schedules, the showcase ran throughout the day, and was backed up in the evening with a game vs. the Long Island Ducks. Attendees also got to see their company's name in lights on the large scoreboard in right field.

IDeACOM is planning similar events in the future, so if you weren't able to make it out this time, be on the lookout for an upcoming event. The storms this past weekend caused extended power outages and flooding for some of us. As a result, a few of our clients were left without power, which caused their phone systems to shut down. As your service provider, we understand how critical phones are to your business and the impact that Mother Nature can have on us at times. We have some ideas & solutions that can help to minimize or prevent storm-related outages from affecting your company's voice communications in the future.
Aside from spending thousands of dollars on large battery backup systems, we can provide you with some inexpensive, yet functional solutions that work independent of your current phone system, and can be integrated regardless of the manufacturer of that system.
In a nutshell, IDeACOM can help you design a cost-effective disaster backup plan that gives you the flexibility to essentially "flip a switch" and re-direct calls to a destination that's similar to your current operation, but scaled back in size. This solution can reside on or off premise, as long as you have high speed Internet access. You can answer calls remotely (from your home, cell, or another office) and control call routing through a web portal; all while keeping your critical business communications operational despite any outside environmental conditions.
Contact IDeACOM to find out how we can establish a plan for your business.
Be on the lookout - IDeACOM is doing more on the web to improve service & support. In addition to recently updating our disaster recovery backup plan, we've just launched our online service tool which lets you place service requests directly on our website.
Visit us at www.ideacom-NJ.com to learn how to reach us during an emergency and how to place a service request online. We encourage you to visit our website for updates and always welcome your input & feedback.

The Impact of VoIP and The Business World

Let's face it, new technology is here. Like it or not you've got to either get on board or be left behind. Now more than ever, business owners need to understand how their phone systems and current technology can help them stay afloat in current economic times.

VoIP can be applied through your phone system to have a positive impact to benefit business owners in a variety of ways. The key is structuring the right solution to match the unique demands and needs of the business. Time needs to be spend with your phone vendor understanding all aspects of your business. However it is worth putting in the time to evaluate how communications play a role within your organization and to look for ways to operate more efficient and cost effectively.

Lets take a broad look at some common implementation ideas:

  • Hosted VoIP phone solutions have become much more popular as the technology becomes more stable, features become helpful and cost becomes effective. In the right application, the pricing and features of a hosted solution can be very attractive. In some cases a business owner may pay around the same monthly cost using hosted phone service in comparison to their existing traditional phone service. As one customer stated, "it's like getting a phone system for free." Think of it like trading in your old phone system and phone lines for new technology all for around the same monthly charge. This doesn't relate in every case but it is definitely worth more than a glance.
  • IP PBX systems have gained a lot of ground over the past few years. If you haven't shopped a phone system in the past 3-5 years you're in for a surprise. VoIP has a strong foothold on the industry, as I'm sure you've heard somewhere along the line. There may be some terminology that you may not be familiar with though. Click Here and scroll to "Understanding VoIP Terminology" and "VoIP Protocols" to help you understand some of the related language. The right IP solution can have a dramatic impact related to monthly cost savings and efficiently. From a networking standpoint, hardware costs within the phone system along with networking circuits to pull this off in a traditional model would most likely be cost prohibitive. However utilizing an IP based phone system, offices and remote employees could be tied in via "the cloud" eliminating expensive hardware and circuits between sites.
The future of communications and new technology holds endless possibilities for business owners who have the imagination and innovation to steer their business to profit. As this technology develops further it will indeed enable businesses to creatively operate their organizations from all over the world. Much of this technology is already here. It's the responsibility of business owners, together with their phone vendor, to understand how and where it can be applied. Fear, lack of knowledge and understanding can and will hold back many from experiencing new levels their organizations can achieve. I would encourage you to contact us at IDeACOM Communications Group to explore your possibilities.
